Trevanian

Ultimately,  a story about an Assassin who due to a debt must help kill
a group of terrorists. This is an excellent thriller. Hel can kill you with anything, Trevanian is in top form with this one. dare not miss it. from the cherry blossoms of Japan to dark caves to the mists for the final showdown... I go back and re read this every once and a while and always come away loving it.

Trevanian, a pseudonym of Rodney William Whitaker. For years there was speculation about who Travanian was. When Clint Eastwood was directing
the Eiger Sanction another of Travanian's novels,  Rodney William Whitaker
showed up on the set and one thing lead to another and just like a spy novel
he was soon revealed to be the best selling author.

Shibumi is a must read if you like... the Assassin ...who can kill you with anything, Bad Ass, Karate Kicking, Punch Throwing, Bugger Flicking, Drinking Straw through the Brain... MoFu ...but is not Remo Williams type novel.

The Eiger and Loo Sanction Novels are top class as well. The Loo Sanction sequel to The Eiger Sanction, featuring Jonathan Hemlock, art professor & free-lance counter-assassin

The Eiger Sanction movie really does follow the novel pretty close. Warren Murphy (co-creator of the Destroyer series) wrote most of the script.

It's rumored that Rodney William Whitaker used five different pen names, each one for a different genre. Travanian was his spy thrillers pen name. He passed away in Dec. 2005. Even after years of knowing who he was the only picture of the man that ever shows up in searches is this one....

Many thanks to whoever came up with it and I hope it really is a photo of one of my favorite authors... cause this guy looks dashing, mysterious and like a man of action. There is a Website for him...here's the link... Trevanian

SATORI by Don Winslow
